Un text escrit l'any 1938 per Margaret Wise Brown, autora del clàssic 'Bona nit, lluna' Corimbo 2003, és recollit i novament il·lustrat per al públic contemporani pel guardonat Christian Robinson, Caldecott Honor Book i Newbery Medal per la seva obra 'Última parada del carrer Market' Corimbo 2016. Un dia, un grup de nens i nenes troben, mentre juguen al parc, un ocell recolzat amb els ulls tancats i sense batecs del cor. Compungits decideixen acomiadar-ho com fan els grans amb els seus sers estimats. Caven un clot en el sòl per a l'ocell, en un racó bonic i solitari i ho cobreixen amb falgueres i flors silvestres. Ho emboliquen dolçament amb fulles de vinya. Finalment li canten una cançó per dir-li adéu. Durant molts dies, s'acosten a la seva petita tomba del bosc per cantar-li la seva cançó.
