Marcos Martín Blanco y Elena Rueda empiezan a adquirir arte en 1979 de la mano de Gerardo Rueda. En la actualidad, su colección reúne más de 800 obras e incluye piezas importantes de los mejores artistas contemporáneos. A partir de 1990, amplían su acción en el mercado internacional y la colección se especializa en la nueva figuración europea y americana. Comienzan a introducir piezas de artistas capitales del arte contemporáneo: Eric Fischl, Francesco Clemente, David Salle, Cindy Sherman, Thomas Ruff02026;
La colección reúne más de 180 autores, como Miquel Barceló, José María Sicilia, Antoni Tàpies, Manuel Hernández Mompó, Pablo Palazuelo, Luis Gordillo, Andrés Zóbel o Soledad Sevilla, entre los autores españoles, y Andy Warhol, Sol LeWitt, Albert Oehlen, Jean-Michel Basquiat, David Salle o Julian Schnabel, entre los internacionales.
La colección fue galardonada en 2004 con el Premio al Coleccionismo de la feria de arte ARCO.
