    En 1982 La Crónica de León encargó a Miguel Ángel Martín que ilustrase las noticias de sucesos nacionales e internacionales que llegaban a través de los teletipos. Tan solo unos meses más tarde se le encomendó también poner las imágenes a una nueva sección, Crónica negra, que recopilaba los crímenes más crueles de la historia de la provincia de León. Aquella tarea gráfica de forense, salpicada de vísceras, puñaladas, asesinos sádicos y víctimas sangrantes se recupera ahora restaurando los textos originales. Una visión de la España miserable y montaraz, un Puerto Urraco sin fronteras, que se ajusta como un guante a la mirada ácida y visceral de Martín.
