El model d?anàlisi es basa en les orientacions propugnades per l?escola europea de lingüística romànica del segle XIX, concretament en la Grammatik der romanischen Sprachen de Friedrich Diez. La lectura d?aquest treball tan valuós, però poc conegut, permetrà que, com afirma Antoni M. Alcover en el pròleg, «tothom, llingüistes i no llingüistes, faran justicia an el Mestre Forteza apreciant la seua obra així com cal».
