A més d'aventures cavalleresques, conspiracions, batalles i escenes bèl·liques, el lector trobarà en aquesta novel·la, com a eix central, la història d'amor entre el cavaller Tirant i la princesa Carmesina, que dóna lloc a la descripció d'una gran quantitat d'escenes eròtiques. Aquesta selecció de pàgines d'amor i erotisme del Tirant ha estat elaborada per Ricard Bellveser a partir de l'edició d'Albert Hauf, i vol contribuir a la celebració del 600 aniversari del naixement de l'escriptor Joanot Martorell.
