La dona assegura que el marit la maltracta, mentre ell, amb to calmat, explica que està boja i ha begut. Qui té raó? Davant un possible cas de maltractament cal actuar. De camí a comissaria, la dona confessa que va estar casada amb un maltractador i que el nou marit l'amenaça de mort. El jutge, però, deixa lliure el sospitós. Poc després, es produeix un doble assassinat. La intuïció i la tossuderia de la Wendy la portaran a investigar pel seu compte qui n'ha estat el culpable.
