Genís, que ha col·laborat en diverses ONG, comparteix amb ella les històries solidàries de què ha estat testimoni en els seus nombrosos viatges com a cooperant. Així, Lluïsa coneixerà les vivències de Nanja, Maties, Mohamed, Kammu, Jaddad i Dula, sis personatges anònims que li descobreixen que la fam, les guerres, l'opressió, la immigració i la misèria són reals i continuen existint en bona part d'aquest món.
