L'objectiu de l'obra és aconseguir que els alumnes coneguin el significat dels mots a partir de les definicions i exemples en anglès i de les il·lustracions. D'aquesta manera els alumnes només han de recórrer a la traducció catalana quan realment ho necessiten.Conté 4.500 entrades i més de 6.000 accepcions angleses, i les corresponents en català. En la redacció de les definicions s'utilitzen mots i construccions al màxim d'entenedors i amb exemples culturalment propers als alumnes. Utilitzant el diccionari monolingüe, els alumnes es familiaritzen més ràpidament amb l'anglès. Per tant augmenta i es refoça la capacitat de comprendre i i produir frases en anglès.
