Aquesta obra recull 734 cartells procendents dels cinc continents, elaborats entre 1925 i 1937, i que pertanyen a una col·lecció única al món sobre cartells relatius a prevenció laboral i seguretat en el treball. La col·lecció es va aplegar l'any 1937 amb motiu d'una exposició sobre el tema organitzada per la Generalitat de Catalunya, i després de la Guerra Civil es va mantenir en l'oblit fins el 1987, any en el que va ser adquirida per l'Arxiu Nacional de Catalunya.
