Por otra parte, Pau, amigo de la investigadora, que ahora trabaja para el servicio secreto español, se ve envuelto en una sucia trama en la que están involucrados sus propios jefes y en la que incluso ve peligrar su vida. Estas dos historias, aparentemente inconexas, confluyen de manera magistral en un final trepidante y sorprendente, lleno de humor y de equívocos, que solo Andreu Martín es capaz de urdir.
