Terra baixa (1897) ha esdevingut una de les obres més conegudes d'Àngel Guimerà i encara avui és una de les més traduïdes i representades en llengua catalana. Si bé el tema principal d'aquest drama és l'amor abordat des del triangle Manelic, Marta i Sebastià, Guimerà planteja magistralment el conflicte constant entre dos mons antagònics i irreconciliables, reflex de les influències realistes i naturalistes de l'època: el món arcàdic que representa Terra Alta, i Terra Baixa, llar de personatges mesquins i profundament corromputs.
Aquesta edició conté una introducció, notes i una proposta didàctica a cura de Lluis-Anton Baulenes adreçada als alumnes de Batxillerat.
