Prisionero de los franceses en el episodio anterior ??Napoleón en Chamartín??, Gabriel de Araceli se fuga y se dirige a Zaragoza para incorporarse al ejército que se está organizando con fuerzas dispersas. El destino lo lleva a ser uno de los valerosos defensores de la ciudad en el segundo y más fuerte de los ?sitios?.
