Curiós i espavilat, treballa de valent en una taverna i de nit, amb l?ajuda del seu Diccionari Universal, s?omple de coneixements a la llum d?una espelma sota un paraigua obert: «Aquelles expressions que immediatament se?m van il?luminar van posar en moviment la meva intel?ligència i van portar-me un consol al cervell i una alegria al cor.
