A lo largo de seis años Joann Sfar realizó Pequeño Vampir, una serie infantil protagonizada por un trasunto infantil de sí mismo, el jovencito vampiro Fernand ?protagonista, en su versión adulta, de Vampir y L?Amour? y algunos otros personajes fantásticos y terroríficos. Sfar demuestra su extraordinaria inteligencia emocional poniéndose en la piel de los niños y dándoles lo que desean: humor salvaje, alegre e inteligente, delirio, ternura y argumentos trepidantes. El presente volumen compila los siete tomos de los que constó la serie, que a su vez dio lugar a un serie de dibujos animados para televisión y que se convertirá también en una película de animación bajo la dirección del propio Sfar actualmente en proceso de producción.
