Eduardo Chillida Juantegui (1924-2002) realizó la primera de sus más de doscientas exposiciones en 1954. De entonces a la fecha ha recibido los más importantes galardones mundiales que se conceden a artistas, y sus obras se reparten por museos, colecciones privadas y espacios públicos de cuatro continentes. Doctor Honoris Causa por la Universidad del País Vasco (1977), de su amplia producción en Euskadi se pueden admirar, entre otras, su 'Gure Aitaren Etxea' en Gernika, el 'Homenaje a los Fueros' en Vitoria-Gasteiz, el 'Peine del Viento' en San Sebastián, y las puertas de la basílica de Aránzazu.
