Un viaje que le traería a Sevilla, sin mas planes que el de pasar unos días, pero que finalmente le demoró hasta junio de 1853. Su historia con la ciudad no es la habitual de un extranjero que la visita atraído por su patrimonio artístico, sino la de un hombre que encontró en ella su lugar en el mundo artístico, convirtiéndolo en el pintor internacional que fue.
