LOS MUNDOS DE ALICIA DE LEWIS CARROLL: ESTUDIO COMPARATIVO Y

Isabel Pascua Febles es Licenciada en Filología y Doctora en Traducción e Interpretación por la Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Durante su estancia en 1998, como Visiting Research Fellow, en el British Center of Literary Translation (University of East Anglia), realizó una investigación sobre Lewis Carroll que tuvo como fruto este libro. Miembro de IRSCL (Sociedad Internacional de Investigación de la Literatura Infantil), de la Lewis Carroll Society en el Reino Unido, de ANILIJ (Asociación Nacional de investigación de Literatura Infantil), participa en proyectos nacionales e internacionales sobre la literatura infantil, línea principal en su investigación, tema sobre el que ha publicado libros y artículos. Desde 1988 imparte clases de traducción en la facultad de Traducción e Interpretación de la Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, de donde fue Decana y actualmente profesora titular. Este libro, fruto del homenaje que quiso rendir la autora a Lewis Carroll, en el centenario de su muerte, tiene como fin primordial el estudio traductológico los problemas que se se plantearon al traducir al español una obra casi desconocida de LEwis Carroll: The Nursery <>. Junto a dicho estudio, también se trata la literatura del <>, las últimas biografías sobre el autor y un estudio comparativo con la famosa Alice in the wonderland. Pero el capítulo más relevante es el dedicado al estudio traductológico y a las notas a la traducción, donde la autora defiende las teorías de la visibilidad e intervencionismo del traductor, y a éste como autora y creador, todo ello ilustrado con acertados ejemplos. Por tanto, el libro posee, aparte de una base teórica, una indudable aplicación práctica.

Abstract
Isabel Pascual Febles is graduated in Philology and Doctor in Translation and Interpretation by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. During her stay in 1998 as Visiting Research Fellow in the British Centre of Literary Translation (University of East Anglia), she made a research on Lewis Carroll. She has been member of the IRSCL (Sociedad Internacional de Investigación de la Literatura Infantil or International Society of Children?s Literature Research); the Lewis Carroll?s Society in the United Kingdom and the ANILIJ (Asociación Nacional de Investigación de Literatura Infantil or National Association of Children?s Literature Research). She has participated in national and international projects about children?s literature, which is closely related to her research. Since 1998 she gives lectures at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in the faculty of Translation and Interpretation, where she was Dean and titular professor. This book aims the study of translating and the problems found in an unknown work as the case of The Nursery by Lewis Carroll. Along with this analysis, a comparative study and last author?s biographies are presented, one of them very famous, which is Alice in Wonderland.
However, the most important chapter is dedicated to a translating study and to translation notes, in which the author stands up for several theories concerning the translator?s visibility and interventionism. She also includes many and complex examples to support her idea. Therefore, the book covers not only a theoretical basis but also an evident application towards practice.
