LA obra poética de José María Velázquez- Gaztelu ha evolucionado con una pausada y metódica coherencia. Su brevedad ?sólo cuatro libros publicados en casi medio siglo? tiene mucho que ver con su rigor, con la paulatina capacidad indagatoria con que ha ido decantándose el lenguaje. Del entramado introspectivo de sus dos primeros poemarios ?La ceniza y Ritos?, se llega a ese luminoso sondeo en la memoria que se estabiliza en Los límites del desierto. Y ahí ya se prevé este Viajes de la eternidad, cuyos elementos reflexivos y narrativos generan una construcción verbal de seductora lucidez. Velázquez-Gaztelu asume en este nuevo libro una modélica concepción de los vínculos entre la experiencia vivida y su equivalencia textual.
