Este libro pretende rescatar para nuestro tiempo la sabiduría humana y espiritual de las grandes tradiciones religiosas en un contexto cultural que se ha tornado inevitablemente laico.
La época en la que vivimos está atravesada por cambios radicales que afectan a todas las esferas de nuestra vida, incluida la religión. Según el autor, sin embargo, lejos de lamentarnos por la gran crisis de las religiones debemos afrontar el reto de cultivar una espiritualidad creativa, libre de los límites establecidos por creencias y ortodoxias excluyentes. Para ello, hay que releer con coraje y en profundidad las religiones y las tradiciones espirituales en las que nuestros antepasados fundamentaron su calidad humana y espiritual, pues más que nunca necesitamos también calidad humana y espiritual para orientar nuestro futuro y gestionar de forma sostenible nuestras potentes ciencias y tecnologías.
