Aquestes composicions satíriques, iròniques, amb un regust picant, entronquen amb tota una tradició clàssica i van ser tremendament populars a l?Empordà, a l?època i a l?entorn del poeta. L?obertura i la consulta de l?arxiu Fages, a la casa pairal de Castelló d?Empúries, ha permès donar forma a aquest segon recull d?epigrames, que completa l?edició del centenari, "Epigrames" (2002), amb un bon feix de composicions que no havien vist encara la llum.
