El arteterapia es un acompañamiento terapéutico de las personas con dificultades (psicológicas, físicas y sociales), a través de sus producciones artísticas (obras plásticas, sonoras, teatrales, literarias, danzadas, etc.). Este trabajo, que toma nuestras vulnerabilidades como material que permite al paciente recrearse a sí mismo, no consiste simplemente en curar medianamente el arte. En efecto, el arteterapia es menos un medio de expresión que una verdadera búsqueda durante la cual el terapeuta ayuda a la persona a realizar un recorrido simbólico. Las intervenciones del arteterapia se extienden al campo social, y permiten tratar en especial el problema de la violencia contemporánea
