Formà un regiment d?infanteria i en fou nomenat coronel. Tot i que estava expressament comprès en l?indult que les capitulacions de Cardona atorgaren a les tropes austriacistes, les autoritats borbòniques van devastar la seva masia, van confiscar tots els seus béns i el van perseguir. S?hagué de refugiar a Mallorca i, quan el 1715 l?illa caigué a mans filipistes, s?exilià, primer a Nàpols i, posteriorment, a Viena, on residí prop de vint anys, fins que hi morí el 1734.
