El Breviario de la aurora, nacido con voluntad de concisión, es un texto paralelo a la Enciclopedia del crepúsculo. Está formado por 360 voces o definiciones, organizadas alfabéticamente, en las que el autor se ha exigido el reto de la brevedad: ninguna de ellas podía superar las tres líneas, siendo preferible, en las más, un laconismo todavía mayor. Aunque escritas en cualquier momento del día, la gran mayoría de esas definiciones o voces surgieron neblinosamente tras el sueño (y demasiado a menudo tras el insomnio).
