MARÍA NEGRONI (Argentina) publicó numerosos libros de poesía, entre ellos La jaula bajo el trapo, Islandia, El viaje de la noche, Arte y fuga (Pre-Textos, 2004), Andanza (Pre-Textos, 2009), Buenos Aires Tour, La Boca del Infierno, Cantar la nada y recientemente Elegía Joseph Cornell; varios libros de ensayos: Ciudad gótica, Museo negro, El testigo lúcido, Galería fantástica (Premio Internacional de Ensayo, Siglo XXI) y Pequeño mundo ilustrado; y dos novelas: El sueño de Úrsula y La Anunciación. Su último libro es Cartas extraordinarias. También tradujo a Louise Labé, Georges Bataille, Valentine Penrose, Charles Simic y Emily Dickinson. Obtuvo las siguientes distinciones: Guggenheim (1994), Rockefeller (1998), Fundación Octavio Paz (México, 2002), New York Foundation for the Arts (2005), Civitella Ranieri (Italia, 2007) y American Academy (Roma, 2008). Su libro Islandia recibió el premio del PEN American Center al mejor libro de poesía en traducción del año (Nueva York, 2001). Ha sido traducida al inglés, francés, italiano y sueco. Actualmente dirige la Maestría en Escritura Creativa de la UNTREF en Buenos Aires.
