L'ac tivitat d'aquestes dones va minvar, fins a desaparèixer del tot, a partir de mit jans del segle XX. Cap a la fi del segle la figura de les trementinaires fou rec uperada i convertida en un bé patrimonial i en símbol d'identitat local amb la c reació del Museu de les Trementinaires a Tuixent (Alt Urgell).
