David Rosenmann-Taub nació en Santiago de Chile en 1927. Su primer libro, Cortejo y Epinicio, apareció cuando el poeta tenía veintidós años, y fue aclamado como una revelación. Desde entonces, Rosenmann-Taub ha publicado más de quince volúmenes de poesía, entre ellos Los Despojos del Sol, La Enredadera del Júbilo, Los Surcos Inundados (que recibió el prestigioso Premio Municipal de Poesía), El Mensajero, Auge, Quince y La Opción.
