Las élites en la historia reúne los textos de las conferencias monográficas organizadas en los últimos tres años por el Centro de Estudios Históricos de la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Ronda. Dicho Centro de Estudios está especializado en la investigación y difusión de materias relacionadas con el estamento nobiliario, las élites hereditarias y otras élites sociales que se han sucedido a lo largo de la historia. Pretende fomentar el estudio de todas las facetas y enfoques de la sociedad estamental y la evolución de las clases dirigentes, desde los meramente genealógicos y prosopográficos a los concernientes a las relaciones de poder o la historia de las ideas.
