Las Brigadas Internacionales fueron unidades militares, compuestas por decenas de miles de voluntarios de todo el mundo, que participaron en la Guerra Civil junto al ejército de la Segunda República. Las Brigadas lucharon en la defensa de Madrid, las batallas del Jarama, Guadalajara, Brunete, Belchite, Ebro, etc. En los mapas se pueden observar gráficamente los principales episodios bélicos y políticos, y también la gran cantidad de personalidades que apoyaron a la República como Simone Weil, Ernest Hemingway, André Malraux o George Orwell. Enriquecen la lectura una introducción histórica, comentarios para cada mapa y una cronología detallada.
