Hoy quedan pocos ejemplares de aquella primera edición de finales del siglo XIX, que contó con una serie limitada de setenta y cinco libros firmados por el autor y el editor y que permitió la realización de esta nueva edición de Libros del Zorro Rojo, que lleva la bella traducción de Julio Gómez de la Serna.
