Biografía del que fue presidente del Gobierno de España entre 1976 y 1981, el primer presidente democrático tras la dictadura del general Franco, una figura clave de la transición democrática española. Suárez legalizó los partidos socialista y comunista, amén de los diferentes sindicatos existentes en la época. Fundó Unión de Centro Democrático (UCD), partido que aglutinaba las fuerzas democristianas y socialdemócratas del país. Al frente de este grupo político ganó las elecciones de 1977. Tras diversas negociaciones, consiguió que se aprobara en referéndum la Constitución. En 1981 presentó su dimisión como jefe del ejecutivo y Leopoldo Calvo Sotelo le sucedió al frente del Gobierno.
