Estos doce cuentos, escritos en 1903, nos muestran una faceta muy poco conocida del genial sueco August Strindberg. En todos ellos nos encontramos al artista de "buen humor", capaz de hacernos disfrutar y aprender con las moralejas presentes en algunas de estas fábulas, realistas unas, satíricas otras, todas ellas cargadas de poesía y de sugerentes imágenes. Sus raíces están en los cuentos de hadas, a la manera de Hans Christian Andersen y E.T.A. Hoffmann.
En 2012 conmemoramos el centenario de la muerte de este polifacético artista sueco, y nuestra contribución es la edición de estos cuentos, que incluyen las ilustraciones originales de 1915 realizadas por Thorsten Schonberg.
Tanto por la temática de los cuentos como por el estilo narrativo, este libro es una lectura imprescindible para lectores de todas las edades.
