La Introducció a la Ilíada de Jaume Pòrtulas, elogiada unànimement per la crítica, ha estat considerada pel jurat dels Premis Nacionals «una sàvia i competent explicació de tota la problemàtica del text homèric, tant des de la perspectiva filològica com històrica, i dels misteris que envolten la personalitat de l02019;autor».
