En marzo de 1828 sale a la luz en Bremen un crimen que conmociona a la ciudad entera y causa sensación mundial por su singularidad. La imputada, una mujer de 43 años llamada Gesche Margarethe Gottfried, confiesa en los primeros interrogatorios haber envenenado entre 1813 y 1827 a 15 personas de su entorno más cercano, entre ellas a sus dos maridos, a sus padres y a sus hijos.
A partir de este drama histórico, Peer Meter (guión) y Barbara Yelin (dibujo) elaboran un trepidante relato cargado de tensión.
