LA poesía de María Victoria Atencia (Málaga, 1931), como la de Rosalía de Castro y Emily Dickinson, nace de la honda tensión entre la vida (observada, soñada o vivida) y la aspiración a la belleza. Poesía secretamente dramática, llena de irisaciones y veladuras que resaltan y, a la vez, ocultan un rico mundo interior. Los versos de María Victoria, de elegante y un tanto extraña serenidad, elusivamente narrativos y aparentemente distantes, gracias al sabio uso del alejandrino, su metro favorito, constituyen una apasionada inquisición sobre la maravilla y la extrañeza de todo vivir.
