Esta inocente pregunta despertará en él los recuerdos juveniles más íntimos: le traerá a la memoria la etapa escolar ;en la que vivía fascinado por la figura del poeta Francisco de Quevedo, deslumbrado por el ingenio de sus poemas satíricos, en los que ridiculizaba a medio mundo; y cómo, influido por sus lecturas quevedescas, se convirtió, a escondidas, en autor anónimo de versos en los que se burlaba sin piedad de sus profesores y compañeros de clase.
