El prestigioso artista italiano Lorenzo Mattotti interpreta, con juegos de luces y sombras, uno de los cuentos más célebres de los hermanos Grimm. La cruel historia de Hansel y Gretel se narra de forma original a través de trazos oscuros que invitan a la sugerencia y a la intuición. Ilustrando en blanco y negro, Mattotti acentúa el trágico sentido de la historia, pero la dota, al mismo tiempo, de una fuerza y expresividad únicas.
En 2007, el Metropolitan Opera House of New York y la revista The New Yorker le propusieron a Mattotti, junto a otros grandes artistas internacionales, participar en un ambicioso proyecto: recrear de forma plástica el cuento de Hansel y Gretel.
