Cuando hasta el lugar llegan los antiguamente célebres jinetes de dragones (ahora desprestigiado porque ya no se les considera necesarios), que tradicionalmente habían sido los encargados de velar por la seguiridad de Pern y que buscan una nueva reina para regir su destino, Lessa recuerda que la venganza es un plato que se sirve frío.
