El quart volum de les Obres completes de Pompeu Fabra recull dos grups de textos: l'obra ortogràfica més important de Fabra i els volumets que el gramàtic va publicar a l'editorial Barcino els anys 1925 i 1926. El volum presenta així mateix les Normes ortogràfiques de l'IEC (1913), una gran fita en l'ortografia normativa del català modern, i el Diccionari ortogràfic (1917), del qual es reprodueix la segona edició, amb correccions i addicions respecte de la primera.
