El final màgic i imponent de la trilogia del Món de Tinta supera totes les expectatives. La revista Spiegel Spezial va descriure aquesta saga com «un jardí narratiu, un caleidoscopi d'aventures plenes de color, un homenatge als llibres i a l'art massa poc reconegut de la lectura en veu alta». Una gran expectació rodeja la publicació de la tercera part de la trilogia inciada amb Cor de tinta i Sang de tinta. Mort de tinta comença al cap de poques setmanes del final de la segona part, prop d'Ombra, i hi trobem una altra vegada pràcticament tots els personatges de la saga, als quals s'afegeixen dos nous homes de vidre i alguns lladres... La publicació del llibre coincideix amb l'estrena mundial de Cor de tinta, la pel"lícula basada en les novel"les de Cornelia Funke.
