Por ello, Hans Küng ha elegido esta religión como comienzo del proyecto global de investigación sobre la situación religiosa de nuestro tiempo, que tiene como fin el encontrar unos elementos comunes a todas ellas, mínimos e imprescindibles para conseguir un acuerdo básico en cuanto a valores vinculantes y criterios inamovibles con los que hacer frente a los retos éticos que se presentan a la humanidad en este fin de milenio.
