The agitated history of Barcelona and its singular location on the Mediterranean coast have shaped a city with a complex urbanistic evolution ideal for studying underneath the three-way lens of this Historical Atlas of Architecture. "Chronology" offers a comprehensive revision of crucial events throughout its urban history. "Districts" a careful selection of the most representative areas of each of the ten administrative sectors, and "Building Types" a specific focus on the architectural categories that lend the city its singular character, constituting three user-friendly chapters that concisely describe nearly 300 projects illustrated with photographs, plans and historical maps. An extensive compilation that faithfully reproduces the lively and changing jigsaw puzzle that is Barcelona today, as it was 2000 years ago, and as envisioned for the future.
