De los numerosos textos apócrifos protagonizados por Sherlock Holmes, ninguno se equipara en imaginación y humor delirante a los escritos por Enrique Jardiel Poncela..Entre ellos sobresale Los 38 asesinatos y medio del Castillo de Hull, donde el detective inglés, que todos creen muerto en las cataratas del Niágara, convence al propio Jardiel para sustituir al Doctor Watson. Holmes, con su característico poder deductivo, emprende la resolución de una serie de misteriosos asesinatos perpetrados en un castillo de Escocia, que ponen a prueba sus métodos de análisis. El final de esta parodia policíaca es aún más sorprendente que el de los relatos firmados por el verdadero padre literario de Holmes, Arthur Conan Doyle.
La presente edición incluye los dibujos realizadas por el propio Jardiel Poncela para ilustrar su parodia de Sherlock Holmes.
