Un amor mutu entre el poeta i la ciutat, encara que alguna vegada sigui entre dubtes i recances, d'una banda o de l'altra. Barcelona amor final recull aquesta intensa experiència amorosa i aplega els poemes de Joan Margarit que tenen Barcelona com a escenari: un centenar de composicions estructurades en vint capítols i el doble itinerari, geogràfic i poètic, que suposa la relació del poeta i la ciutat.
