Jaume Pont (Lleida, 1947) és poeta, assagista i professor de literatura a la Universitat de Lleida. La seva obra completa fins al 1989 està aplegada a Raó d'atzar. Poesia 1974-1989 i, més tard, amb Vol de cendres (1996), va assolir un dels reculls més intensos de la dècada. L'any 2000 va publicar una antologia de poetes apòcrifs arabolleidatans, El Llibre de La Frontera, que va sorprendre pel plantejament original i l'execució brillant. Ha guanyat el Premi Serra d'Or de la Crítica dues vegades i el Premi de la Crítica de Poesia Catalana. Amb el recull Enlloc ha guanyat el darrer premi Carles Riba.
