El CATALÀ PROGRESSIU /1 és el primer volum d'un curs mitjà de llengua catalana (dividit en 2 volums). Conté uns temes introductoris i la morfosintaxi, donant així, després d'una introducció que situa el català en l'espai i el temps, l'estructura gramatical de la llengua. Inclou també una antologia literària d'autors de la Renaixença (fins a Pompeu Fabra). El curs de CATALÀ PROGRESSIU representa un «progrés» o pas endavant en l'estudi del català a partir d'un nivel bàsic o elemental (com és el que forneix el mètode titulat «Català fàcil»). Pot servir per a diferents finalitats didàctiques, com autoaprenentatge, preparació d'exàments de nivell mitjà (per exemple, la prova C de la Generalitat de Catalunya), llibre de text, de consulta, auxiliar o complementari.
